I studied painting the landscape, model- and portraitscetching and painting in watercolour and oil, later on also in acrylic medium. I was a member of the board and arranged, with the help of other members, many exhibitions. I helped with the start of several courses.
The coaches in art, during the period 1976 till 2001, were Lense Elzinga, Cor Heeck, Topy ten Hove, Cees de Haas, Dirck Nab and Martin Heynen. I made a series of works, very colourful and with a blink to the Cobra group and Corneille, because for a while I did not want to follow my known style, I “simply” wanted to enjoy colours and painting.
From 1999 on, I am a member of the art group K=ME ( K means Art, M means Matter and E means Emotion) with 4 other painters. Every year we arrange several exhibitions and sometimes we work together. Apart from this group I paint at home or in the countryside. The materials I use are acrylic paint, oil paint, watercolour, pastels and all kinds of drawing materials. I use it on paper, board, linen, cotton or wood. My subjects are people, animals, still lives and landscapes in a realistic and sometimes surrealistic and visionary way.
What inspires me changes, I like to surprise myself and the spectators.
I started early September 2008 as creative coach in a horsefarm where daily care is given to young people who are disabled.
I also paint and draw in commission.
